It’s been a pretty big summer for Ryan Raddon, the DJ/producer otherwise known as Kaskade. He has been EDM-famous for years, releasing a series of #1 Billboard hits and remixes. His rise to popularity isn’t just an overnight success; it’s paved by over a decade of late nights and hard work. In addition to preparing a double-disc set to be released in October, he just served up 20 major cities with EDM music on the Identity Festival tour and is living the life of a high-profile DJ with hisLas Vegas residencies at Marquee Nightclub and Encore Beach Club. To top things off, Kaskade takes the top spot in the 2011America’s Best DJ competition. The fans have spoken and Kaskade was in full-effect thanking his fans with one of the best DJ performances at Las Vegas’s premier nightclub Marquee at the Cosmopolitan.
As always, Marquee was decked out to welcomeAmerica’s best DJ with psychedelic visuals at the DJ booth, full scale LED wall, crazy go-go dancers and acrobats shaking the catwalk, and laser/lighting system that allows for a complete sensory overload. Glow stick paraphernalia was seen throughout the club along with people in their finest outfits. What we really enjoyed about the evening was that the majority of the crowd was a bit classier and tamer than most, which makes for an enjoyable night. The wilder side of the crowd was most likely made up by the 200+ people up front at the DJ booth trying to get a glimpse of Kaskade. We knew that this was going to be one of the highlights of the weekend. However, in addition to the spectacular eye candy, Kaskade was set out to leave many memorized.
We could go into the notable tracks that he dropped throughout the night but this review would run long deep. We could tell you that the track selection was awe-inspiring and kept the alcohol flowing and bodies moving. We were expecting Kaskade’s dream-like, relaxing, feminine vocals throughout the night but that was certainly not the case. Instead, we were surprised with a set that was much wilder and more intense as we entered the early AM.
Getting to see Kaskade’s legendary 8-plus hour set at the new Marquee club? Hands-down, Marquee Nightclub is one of the best and most amazing Las Vegas experiences to date. The overall vibe of the club was great and it showed Marquee’s willingness to create something completely different to raise the value of the club. So as far as the club goes, there is no equal on the west coast. As far as Kaskade, he’s not only the best DJ in the States but most certainly one of the best in the world. Worth a visit? Fuck yeah.

Was this a special event for him to be on for 8 hours? What time is his normal set 1AM-5AM?

This was a special event, usually he comes on around 12-1, but that was an epic night as you can tell from the pictures! LV x KASKADE FTW!
