World-renowned electronic music producer/performer Deadmau5 released an epic compilation of his latest project “Meowingtons Hax Tour Trax” which is a 10 track album to promote his tour which features Feed Me, Datsik, Zedd, Excision, Tommy Lee & DJ Aero and even more of the Mau5trap label. We highly suggest you purchase the compilation in its entirety at Beatport!
The compilation opens up instantly with Deadmau5’s “Where My Keys” and is an instant standout. It balances great pulsing rhythmic vibes alongside a tranquil break around 2:30 and comes back harder and more progressive with electronic beats and synths which are very reminiscent of “Ghosts n Stuff.”
Feed Me “Cott’s Face” is a face melter indeed. It starts out with a subtle kick beat that’s almost a drone but builds to a crescendo of madness, at exactly 1:45, this track time warps your brain into an all out frenzy. With jig saw like break beats and that dirty distorted bass, one can only imagine rocking out to this at a Feed Me concert losing their psyche and flailing their arms for more! Just when you can’t take anymore, a break at 3:47 lets you rest and brings you back to sane levels with some low-fi melodic beats but you know a Meowingtons Hax Tour would not be stylish without one last epic beat drop at 4:16 with a sharp incessant synth chord drop right out of Justice’s Genesis.
Skrillex – Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites (Zed Remix) Another stand out artist from the Meowingtons Hax Tour is of course German DJ/Producer Zedd (not to be confused with Zed’s Dead). His remix of Skrillex’s infamous Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites shines in hypem.com chart full of remixes and renderings. Zedd is able to keep it Dub, while adding a bit of his own House flare. Don’t get it twisted; it just goes hard, period. A great surprise in the track is at 3:58 where “OH MY GOD lyrics” is followed by a funky spin down of the tempo which causes your jaw to drop and your head to wobble.
There are a few more handful of tracks that deserve worthy mentions but we rather have you go snag the album and have yourself a listen. Again, you can get the album in its entirety at Beatport!
