One of Canada’s most famous electronic artists, Deadmau5, returned toLVlast weekend to celebrate Halloween by pumping the halls the XS Nightclub with his signature brand progressive House music. Many of the projectors that circulated the posh LV club displayed eerie images of the XS logo, while many in costume and attendance, promoted the “Ghosts ‘N’ Stuff” motif.
The Mau5 dressed for the occasion and “location” as he apparently came in the form of Johnny Depp’s wildly drugged out and “insane” character Raoul Duke from the movie Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Among many famous faces was Las Vegas Resident and hit TV star, Holly Madison in a sexy Minnie Mouse costume.
The night began with a special pre-shift pep talk from deadmau5 himself to rev up more than 100 costumed staff members for what would be an incredible evening ahead. Doors opening shortly after 9 p.m. and thousands of partygoers poured into the mega club.
The Electro Punk DJ, Le Castle Vania from the ATL, opened the Halloween celebration with a set that shook the venue to its core ensuring was all partygoers were amped for the set ahead. Within two hours, XS reached its capacity and the crowd was ready for the Mau5 to take his podium among excited mau5 fans.
Shortly before 1 a.m. Le Castle Vania led thousands of excited fans in a countdown to welcome the electronic music visionary to the stage. As the crowd hit one, smoke erupted from stage and the mouse head appeared. Deadmau5 kicked off his highly anticipated set donned in his signature headpiece, this evening’s creation resembling cheese with missing holes in the ears, and began to drop tracks as the venue revealed its high-tech production with laser lights and LED screens streaming video surrounding by skulls and crossbones fitting for the holiday spirit.
After he crafted a few tracks on the fly, Sofia “Sofi” Toufa joined him onstage to lend her thrilling vocals to the set as he energetically dropped into the song Sofi Needs a Ladder. Supporting her performance from the stage was boyfriend and Mötley Crüe member, Tommy Lee, who is also a longtime friend to deadmau5. Sofi, dressed as the Queen of Hearts and definitely rocked that look.



As the sun reared its’ ugly head, the partygoers nevertheless rampantly got down to the sounds of that melodic house music from this mad rodent! Las Vegas and XS Nightclub continues to prove to the world that it is the new party capital for electronic dance music!
