Over the long weekend, Live Nation collaborated with LED to host one of the most killer EDM events San Diego has ever seen. The Cricket Amphitheater is a fairly new stadium in the dance music arena and is the first of many future visits for us at Le New Shit. With that being said, we were completely blown away at how organized and spectacular the venue was (and clean too!). After hitting the opening set of Audrey Napoleon, with such tracks as ‘banana es buy loca‘, we made our way to the Main Stage to catch the tail end of A-trak’s amazing solo. He really did a number on Daft Punk’s ‘Robot Rock‘ as he cut, scratched, juggled, mixed, and HADOUKEN’d the beat. A-trak’s turntablism was on point to say the least!

Madeon nailed it with his set as the whole crowd cheered his drops of hit singles such as his very own ‘Icarus‘ and one of our favorite tracks by Oliver ‘Dirty Talk‘. Skrillex hyped up the crowd with his wobble de wobble dirty dub beats, opening with ‘Breakn’ A Sweat’, busting out hit singles, ‘Lick It Down‘ and one of his newest tracks ‘Make it Bun Dem‘ featuring Damian Marley. Wolfgang Gartner is always a crowd pleaser, especially when he dropped his rendition of Miike Snow’s ‘Paddling Out.’

12th Planet’s set is always a crowd pleaser as those who are great fans of Dubstep know he puts on one hell of a show. Anyone could tell by all the beautiful people,  rave season had arrived. Girls in string bikini tops, dudes on crutches partying, Mau5 heads for days, and of course booty shorts (rocking’ all around). LNS definitely has to say “WE LOVE THIS CITY.”

In the words of Ron Burgundy,

“Stay classy San Diego.”
